Retail solutions that deliver results at ICA Knuten, Nyköping
Smart merchandising is making a visible difference across ICA Knuten in Nyköping, Sweden. From beverages and grocery to fresh produce and dairy, the store has implemented solutions that save time, improve accessibility, and keep shelves looking fully stocked throughout the day.
It has resulted in a smoother daily workflow for personnel and a better shopping experience for shoppers.

A dairy department to be proud of
The dairy department at ICA Knuten is not only performing well, it’s award-winning. Recognised at the Swedish Grocery Awards 2024, the team continues to take pride in a well-organised and high-performing section.
By using Roller Track™ in their coolers, the store team can restock from the front while maintaining correct date rotation. This simplifies handling, improves efficiency, and keeps shelves consistently neat and well stocked.
“It helps us save time in our daily work,” says retailer Conny Holmström. “Overall, we’re very happy with the solution.”
Well-faced fresh produce with reduced waste
In the fruit and veg section, the focus is on both presentation and reducing waste. With solutions like FreshBox and shelf automation pusher systems, products are always visible and neatly presented, without the need to overfill displays.
For example, FreshBox allows personnel to keep products front-faced even when stock levels are lower. This not only maintains a full look, but also helps minimise waste.
“They’re really clever because you don’t need to keep them completely full all the time,” says retailer Linda Holmström. “That really helps us reduce waste.”
Pushers used for salads and other items further enhance visibility and make date rotation easier. The result is a section that looks fresh, organised, and easy to shop.

Smarter shelves across the store
Across centre store and beverages, ICA Knuten has introduced solutions that improve both efficiency and accessibility.
In the beverage section, Optimal™ beverage trays keep 1.5-litre bottles aligned and well-presented throughout the day. This reduces the need for constant manual fronting and saves valuable time during restocking.
“We’ve definitely saved time when restocking,” says store manager Emma. “What’s great is that the section looks like this all day.”
In centre store aisles, a combination of Multivo™ Max and roller tracks ensures products automatically move forward as items are picked. This keeps shelves looking full while also making products easier to reach, even on higher shelves.

“The top shelf used to be a challenge,” Emma explains. “With Multivo™ Max, shoppers can reach much more easily.”
Saving time, improving the experience
By implementing merchandising solutions throughout the store, ICA Knuten has created a more efficient working environment while enhancing the overall shopping experience.
Shelves stay fronted. Products stay accessible. And the store team spend less time on manual tasks like fronting and reorganisation.
“With self-fronting pushers, we probably save around an hour every day,” says Linda Holmström.
A small change in setup, with a big impact on both daily operations and customer satisfaction. verall, we’re very happy with the solution.”
