Maximised efficiency for slower moving ambient products
Shopper engagement is often lower for ambient products in the pantry section which makes optimised merchandising even more important so store staff can spend time elsewhere. The pantry section with products such as cereals, condiments, rice and pasta is usually not one of the most trafficked parts of the store and, depending on product, shopping frequency is lower. Therefore, store personnel often has less time to merchandise and maintain shelves in this part of the store.
This can lead to perceived out-of-stock situations, especially on top and bottom shelves. As shoppers pick items from shelves, only products at the back of the shelf where they less visible for shoppers remain. As a result, products seem out-of-stock and sales are lost as shoppers were not able to find the product they were looking for.
”The sales uplift is super. But especially the structure within the shelf is unbelievably good. I would always choose HL again.”

Minimise merchandising time and perceived out-of-stocks
Keeping the large variety of products, packaging sizes and formats from bottles and jars to bags, boxes and tins neatly merchandised and front-faced is key for the pantry section. By implementing pusher systems or gravity feed solutions, products are automatically pushed to the shelf edge, maximising visibility with no additional effort from store staff.
Mix and match the right solution to products in the category:
- Tins, bottles or glasses? Facer™ or Roller Track™
- Lighter cardboard boxes and packages? Multivo™ Max or Next™
- Heavier boxes and packages with flat bottom surface? Roller Track™
”Fronting has been largely eliminated since we got Multivo Max.”
